The Church Council has set the metrics that are needed to resume In Person Worship.
When 80% of our regular attenders have received both vaccines, that is 40 people, we will resume in person worship. It will be important for you to call the pastor on his cell phone and let him know when you have received both vaccines.
Because the great majority of our regular attenders live in the city of Richmond, and the counties of Henrico and Hanover we will pay attention to the positivity rates of those being tested in those three locales.
If the percentage of positivity for those being tested in these three locales meets the following percent- ages before we get to 80% vaccines, then we will use the following as the basis for resuming in person worship. In order to being In Person Worship Outdoors we need to see a positivity rate of at least 7%. To begin In Person Worship Indoors we need to see a positivity rate of 5%.
The reason for suspending In Person Worship is to keep our congregation safe. This was a decision made by our church leadership not by anyone else. There are churches that are meeting and there are churches that have chosen to suspend In Person Worship. Each church must make the decision they feel is best for their congregation. Because of the age of most of our attendees, our leadership felt this was and is the right decision for us. Hopefully the metrics will be where we can safely return to In Person Worship in the near future.
