Potter’s Pantry is a partnership between Youth with a Mission and CABC. It serves as an extension of our local food bank, Feedmore. Potter’s Pantry collects donations from local stores and distributes them to individuals and families in the east end who need assistance. The Food Bank requires that we only serve families in the 23231 zip code.
Recently, Potter’s Pantry has updated its policies and clients are no longer required to call in for appointments. The Youth With A Mission staff will now call clients based on a bi-monthly rotation informing them of their next appointment date. Any new clients can call (804) 548-4164 and we will follow up with them as soon as possible.
Thelma Martin coordinates and leads this outreach, aiming to meet needs both physical and spiritual by providing food and prayer for those who need it. In 2018, Youth with a Mission started a homeless outreach that utilizes surplus food from Potter’s Pantry. The homeless receive a meal on Friday nights and participate in an evangelistic Bible study. If you’d like to get involved with feeding the hungry, please contact the Ministries Leader at Youth with a Mission, Jesse Carmichael (757) 329-5136 jesse@ywamva.org.
