It seems as though this winter was not as bad as some, but it also seems as though it has not wanted to let go and allow spring to begin. With Easter kicking off the month of April, hopefully, that means that spring is here and that we will see all of the beauty that goes along with the season. For those who deal with seasonal allergies, I hope that you can enjoy the beauty and that the pollen will not make it too difficult for you or your family.
As we turn the calendar to April, we also recognize that there will be more outdoor activities. We will begin our Outdoor Movie Nights once again. Those are always fun and I encourage you to watch the calendar for dates. We will begin the movies at dusk. The first one will be Friday, April 20 at 8:00 PM.
We have made a change in our Wednesday evening schedule. Dinner is served at 5:30 and we begin our programming around 5:45. The children meet with Dorothy Davis and Claire George. The adults stay around the tables and finish eating while we have our prayer time and Bible study. We conclude those activities at 6:45. While we are on Daylight Saving Time you will be home by dark. Also, some committees have chosen to meet on Wednesday evenings beginning at 6:45.
Two special speakers have been lined up for April. Wednesday, April 4, Terry Maples CBF of Virginia Field Coordinator will be here and our Missions Team is planning a Missions Fair to share all the ways our church is connected with our mission partners. On Wednesday, April 11, we will have a Gideon Speaker to share about their work. The following week, April 18 we will have our Quarterly Business Meeting. Regular Bible Study in Acts will resume on April 25.
