It’s Black History Month! To celebrate this occasion, families will eat lunch together in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, February 24. After lunch, we will go to the Black History Museum & Cultural Center of Virginia. We are scheduled to be at the museum at 1:45 pm so we will need to leave the church by 1:15 pm. The museum is child friendly with interactive play for children and families. We will take a tour of the museum and explore visual, oral, written records, and artifacts commemorating the lives and accomplishments of Blacks in Virginia.
Everyone is encouraged to pay their own way. If you cannot pay for your ticket, then please let us know ahead of time and we will pay for your ticket. Families are asked to transport themselves to and from the museum. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children. Ticket prices for a group of 10 people are: adults – $8 (10 or more $2 off regular price), ages 13 – college is $6, ages 65 & up – $6, ages 12 and under – $4. Sign up by February 17 online on our church’s Facebook page or on our sign-sheet located in the main hallway.
