On Palm Sunday, April 14, children and youth are invited to wave palm branches in the 11 am worship service. We will practice waving palms together in the sanctuary at the beginning of the Sunday School hour at 9:25 am on Sunday morning.
Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt for the children will be on Palm Sunday, April 14 following the worship service. The children will hunt for eggs in the Prayer Garden and in the preschool area outside. Children are asked to bring baskets with them to hunt for Easter eggs! If you would like to donate candy for this cause, please purchase candy small enough to fill our plastic eggs. Bring the candy to church and leave it inside of Claire’s office. Thank you for your support!
Families are invited to go hiking with us at Peaks of Otter in the Blue Ridge Mountains on Tuesday, April 2. We plan to leave the church parking lot at 8:30 am and return by 7 pm. Peaks of Otter is located near Bedford County, VA. Pack a bag lunch and bring money with you to eat dinner out. You are asked to pay for your own meal. Bring plenty of water with you to drink and snacks to eat. There are easy to moderate trails of 1-2 miles with waterfalls. Please sign up on our Facebook page if you plan to attend.
On Sunday, March 10 we will have a pizza lunch and go bowling together at Bowl America. The time for this event is 12 noon – 3 pm. The address

Families are asked to transport themselves to the bowling alley. The prices for shoe rental are $4.52 and games are $4.69 per person. The church will cover the pizza lunch. If you cannot pay for your shoe rental or game, then let Claire know in advance and the church will help pay the cost.
It’s Black History Month! To celebrate this occasion, families will eat lunch together in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, February 24. After lunch, we will go to the Black History Museum & Cultural Center of Virginia. We are scheduled to be at the museum at 1:45 pm so we will need to leave the church by 1:15 pm. The museum is child friendly with interactive play for children and families. We will take a tour of the museum and explore visual, oral, written records, and artifacts commemorating the lives and accomplishments of Blacks in Virginia.
Everyone is encouraged to pay their own way. If you cannot pay for your ticket, then please let us know ahead of time and we will pay for your ticket. Families are asked to transport themselves to and from the museum. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children. Ticket prices for a group of 10 people are: adults – $8 (10 or more $2 off regular price), ages 13 – college is $6, ages 65 & up – $6, ages 12 and under – $4.
